Is it the beginning of the end?

Posted by Chronic on August 20th, 2006

Explosions ring out in markets, mosques, cemeteries, and public streets. Missiles rain down on civillian populations, and soldiers, militants, guerillas, jihadists, and international police lay in ambush. Chambers loaded, safetys off, with a cold distant stare, they wait.

The ideological war between the Judeo-Christian West and the Islamic Near-East is teetering on the edge of no-return. With neither side in the Iran V US match-up willing to back down on the nuclear issue, it’s just a question of who strikes first.

The major difference between this and the Iraq war is that there will be no denying this war at home… Americans are trying desperately to live their lives as normally as possible, but when this war expands to include virtually every muslim nation on earth, the US, UK, Russia, and EU will find themselves involved in a war on a far greater scale than any war in the past… and the worst part, the only way for the west to win is resort to tactics that are simply attrocious to western ideology.

Unless we’re willing to selectively violate the rights of the people based on their religious beliefs, we’re not going to be able to identify a terrorist until after he has commited an act of terrorism.

I don’t support profiling. I don’t condone racism, or religious discrimination, or discrimination of any kind… but the war on terror can’t be won as long as it’s fought in terms of a war on terrorists. The only way for the west to win is to change it to a war on Islam. This war is “winnable” because it’s a whole lot easier to identify a Muslim than it is to identify a terrorist.

I don’t support this idea. I’m not recommending it, or trying to say I want to see a war with Islam. I just think it’s the military strategy that we’ll see Dubaya and friends employ. We’ve already seen the start of the transistion from the war on terror to the war on Islam. When the UK busted the 2 dozen suspected terrorist who supposedly planned on blowing up trans-atlantic flights, President Bush said we were at war with “Islamic Fascists” instead of radical terrorists or similar language from earlier statements.

I believe this to be the beginning of the transition. When Iran’s nuke deadline expires and the EU and Russia prevent economic sanctions, the US will be left with no choice but to use its military to send a message to Iran. When this happens, the whole of the Islamic world will come to the defense of Iran. At this point the west can redefine the war officially, and start effectively exterminating the enemy and anyone living within 100 mile radius.

Immigration Reform: What Potheads should know

Posted by Ask A Pothead on May 17th, 2006

Ok kiddies, so last night our president delivered a little lip service in an attempt to boost his abysmal approval rating. I should admit that I didn’t bother to watch it live because it came on during the Detroit Vs. Cleveland game but thanks to my DVR I was able to closely listen to every word. Even rewinding at time thinking, “Did that asshole just say what I think he said?” For those of you who missed it basically our fearless leader laid our a five point plan that will help make it seem like he is taking action while actually making us less safe. And here is why:

Point one Dubaya wants to fortify the border with 6000 additional National Guard troops. Yes the very same National Guard troops that are already stretched too far as it is. I guess because his National Guard experience was such a breeze he has decided to work these guys into the ground. At least with all the troops on our southern boarder it will be easy to move them to New Orleans after the next Hurricane.

Point two Dubaya wants to throw some money at it. We have already broken into our children’s piggy bank to pay for our addiction to oil but lets say fuck it and really run up some national debt so that we can have unmanned predator drones flying over the desert.

Point three Dubaya wants to establish a temporary worker program. This is much better than “Catch and Release”. I like to call it “Give um ID and release”. This plan is so stupid I don’t know where to begin. Lets just “pray” that all immigrant workers will be honest and not simply disappear once they are in our country.

Point four To appease the right wing conservatives in his party Dubaya promised no amnesty and he is correct. Allowing people who have been in this country illegally to just stay will only encourage more immigrants. Then in the next breath he admitted that there is no way in hell that we could deport everyone. I don’t have an answer for this one but after listening to the president it is obvious that he has no answer either.

Point five This was more of a philosophy than an actual plan but Dubaya wanted to remind everyone that we are a “melting pot”. I never really liked that analogy. If you think about a melting pot with a bunch of ingredients all mixed together you just come up with some gross stew that taste like shit. I prefer to think of America as a fresh garden salad with lots of distinct ingredients all mixed together with each one retaining its own unique flavor.

F.Y.I. None of this will protect us from European born French or English speaking terrorist who can easily blend into Canadian society and enter our country freely because apparently the only foreigners Dubaya wants to keep out come from our southern boarder. On a positive note maybe some of this will make a dent in the cheap, dirty, low-grade marijuana that comes form Mexico. ~~Buy American~~

WARNING:
This might offend quite a few people. After countless nights trying to forget and move on. Smoking it up didn’t quite work. So please remain calm. If you get offended by retards, religion, and so on either find another post to read or begin to stomach of what retarded really is. Views and points are that of Author. Thank you
=======================

As of late I can not wrap my mind around this. No matter how hard I try to find logic in this, no matter how hard I try to find truth, no matter how hard I try to find facts, I come up empty. I smoke a big ass bowl to find logic which works 99% of the timeNOTHING.

Kansas. Home of Flatlands; Lawrence, Kansas; KU; KSU; Wheat; and the Phelps. Yes, The Fucking Phelps. I discovered a new word for fuck and that be Phelp. I phelped it up. Phelp you you phelpin phelp.

So they have a church. Yup. A church. It is called the Westboro Baptist Church. They have a website. Here the fucking link: http://www.godhatesfags.com (you’ll have to type it in, we’re not linking these retards.)

Ok there is a line between REBELLION and STUPIDITY. And this my friends and readers is it’s own category of stupidity. I mean it is off the charts of stupidity.

Rebellion being: protesting something that you have EVIDENCE, LOGIC, FACTS, and REASONS. There are other things but those are the MAJOR. Evidence that you can see, show, and PROVE

Stupidity Read their site. There are videos, and shit that they have that you can not prove.

By the waysaying the bible told me so. They bible says so. Im sorry pleasedo not use the bible crutch in your defense. It is fucking cliché. It is a BOOK. I am about ready to write a damn book. Bury it for 10 days. Pull it up and say The Book of Mids told me so.

So this is a Protesting Gospel. They protested everything. Homosexuality, Sweden, Canada, America. They want to construct monuments so people will know that these FAGS will forever be REMEMBERED that they are in HELL. If you do not believe me. Look at their page. I do not have the heart to put an example on here. One of them is for Mathew Sheppard that they want to put in his hometown.

Then they want to put a monument up for some preacher who was jailed for preaching against fags in dedication to him. What a bunch of fuck tards.

Oh goodie. Why thank you. They will let anyone use their material for any reason. Score. Here is Fred King Fucktard Phelps Quick Bio:

Fred Phelps was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Meridian, Mississippi. Graduated Meridian High at 16 with highest academic honors, American Legion Citizenship Award, track letter, Bausch-Lomb Science Award, Eagle Scout, Principal Appointment to West Point Military Academy. The summer following graduation, he had a profound religious experience, gave up West Point, enrolled instead for Bible/ministerial training at Bob Jones College, Cleveland, Tennessee (later moving with them as they transitioned to Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina). Ordained by the Southern Baptists Sept. 8, 1947. Met his wife, Margie M. Phelps, in 1951 while preaching at the Arizona Bible Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Their marriage May 15, 1952 has been blessed of God with 13 children, 54 grandchildren (to date) and 5 great-grandchildren (to date). Has served as Pastor of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, since Nov. 1955. WBC has conducted more than 22,000 picketing demonstrations across America and some foreign countries during the past 12 years — aimed at showing Americans their transgression (Isa. 58:1) and causing America to know her abominations. Ezek. 16:2. Fred Phelps is a Five-Point Calvinist who urges all people to carefully study and discern what are the signs of the times (Mat. 16:3) in the light of the Scriptures rightly divided (2 Tim. 2:15) and church history from Adam to now. For more biographical info, pictorial record including stills and video footage, and to hear his sermons — Bread from Westboro Oven — please consult www.godhatesfags.com, www.godhatesamerica.com, and www.fredthemovie.com.

NOW WHAT HE LEFT OUT OF HIS BIO Thanks to Phred’s bio Here is a just a piece but I recommend reading the rest. Phelps graduated from Washburn University in 1962, attending classes while maintaining his pastoral duties at Westboro. Sometime following his graduation from Washburn, Phelps became addicted to amphetamines and barbiturates, which he often combined with large quantities of alcohol. [26] One of his sons claims that his first memory in life was that of the drunk, stoned Phelps shooting a dog for defecating on the lawn (see above) [27][28], the incident which led to the majority of Phelps’ supporters leaving him and returning to Eastside. The owner sued Phelps, but Phelps defended himself in court and won. In the middle of the night, for the next several weeks, his ex-congregants snuck into the front yard of Westboro and placed signs reading: Anyone who’d stoop to killing a dog someday will mistake a child for a dog. [29] Phelps continued to take drugs, consume alcohol, and binge eat for six years, and would often go for days or weeks without leaving his bedroom. When Phelps did leave his room, it was to throw temper tantrums, during which he would throw food, break plates, and scream at his children for not eating. When Phelps was then too exhausted to continue his fit, he would take his wife back to their room for sex while the children cleaned up after him. Son Mark recalls: It established a life habit for me. Even today, the moment I get home, I’m thinking ‘Is Daddy mad?’ Our walls were stained with food. And my mom used to cry because she couldn’t keep good dishes. My father would also bust holes in the walls and doors. If they were on the outside, he’d fix them quickly. On the inside, he’d leave them unrepaired for months
==========

Wowthis is EVEN BETTERWOOO Phred’s Criminal Record click this shit. Seriously.

1987: Witness intimidation, threats, and attempted extortion (charges were brought up by the Kansas Bar Association and used as evidence in Phelps’ disbarment and the launching of disbarment hearings against his children)

1996: Two counts of sex with a minor relation.

It only gets better click the links I provide.

Thank you link Read this one. Also a KKK supporter.

Ok the protest all these funerals screaming opinions and religion. Which is a double sided sword. Where is your proof. Actual. Clairvoyant, Logical proof. On top of that your past and present is pretty shaky to get taken serious. However, back at hand, Where is your proof. To me you are committing a far worse sin of shoving your version of Twisted Christianity in peoples faces, protesting innocent dead soldiers funerals, making a mockery of deaths, judging people, telling good people that they are not Christian, that America is going to hell WHICH YOU LIVE IN DUMBASS so hey I guess we are going together, being a bigot on many things, being a supporter of KKK, taking gods word out of total total.total context, and being the fucking fuck tard that you be. Now..what makes you so much better then us? Tell me Phelps and Familywhat makes you so much better the us that you get a free ride to heaven, get to ridicule everyone, and say that these countries, fags, and America is going to hell.

Lets see some other things you have said. Oh, Thank God for Katrina? Yeahbig upsthat will win over an audience. A natural disaster that has affected many lives, a country, and so on. What else is God on Al Qaedas side as well? I so dare you to say that. I and a lot of people are waiting for you to say that because I got a lot of money riding on that.

On top of that. I remembered always being taught in Church that God.is a Loving God. Not a Hating God Spreading the word of Hate? Ok. So now after reading even more into the letters that you receive and answer: God Hates people. THEN WHY THE FUCK DID HE MAKE US? If every son and daughter of adam and eve must go to hell then hell I will see you all there then. You all are fucking retarded.

Now before you all go off trying to judge me, try to convert me to your fucking ways, and all that shit. Let me remind you of something. 1.)Be a christian 2) Act like a christian. 3) Come off to me as a christian. 4) be what the bible calls a christian. That is just the Min. Requirements. I can give you more. Because you are coming off as Satanic, Demonic, and retarded.

Your fucking logic doesnt make sense. I hope you are reading this. I want proof just like everyone else. Here is the deal. No bible, No version of you hateful God. Bring me proof. I hopeI am now prayingI am meditating that one or all of the families you protest fuck you up. You are disgrace to America, Mankind, and every single chromosome that makes you up.

Here is my theory. At one time there was the Greeks and Romans. They had their Gods. It was a book turned into a poem. We have the bible We have this God, Jesus, and a cast of characters. If you take the Greeks and Romans book and the bible. ALMOST IDENTICAL. It could be considered and Epic Poem like ie: Iliad and the Odyssey.

So Phelps and Co. Pleasedo us all a favor.shut up.
Thank you J

The Resolution Revolution

Posted by Ask A Pothead on April 19th, 2006

I am totally for allowing illegal aliens to stay in America; in fact, I would like to make the process easier. That’s right, I went there. Okay, so everybody is talking about how much illegal immigrants cost us, think of how much your crack smoking welfare case with 7 kids down the street is costing us, and they’re white like you and me. The operative word here is “illegal” once they’re legal they can get jobs and start contributing to the system. Okay, so the illegal are unskilled, so what? Everybody is good at something, start giving them competitive rates for working on farms and our problems are solved. Their kids, who have grown up here their whole lives will have had the same chances and same opportunities as your kids and will then get jobs just like your kids, contribute the same amount as your kids, and possibly work harder than your kids. Americans are making this a harder problem than it actually is. Think about how many billions of dollars it would cost to round up the illegals and send them back, this is not a solution. Immigration is inevitable so why not find better ways to accept it instead of coming up with boisterous impossibilities that will just create more problems for you in the long run?

We, Americans, as a group have turned to blaming others for our problems instead of owning up to them. Here is our mentality

Problem: We’re Fat

American Solution: Let’s sue McDonalds

My solution: QUIT EATING!!!!! STOP YOUR FUCKING EATING!!!!!!! I MEAN, MY GOD, WHEN YOU CAN’T SEE YOU’R FUCKING FEET ANYMORE YOU’RE TOO FUCKING FAT, OKAY??!!!!

Problem: China is taking all our jobs

American Solution: Let’s complain and blame the president that we voted for, or even better, lets not vote at all.

My solution: Stop shopping at Wal- Mart and other corporate conglomerates that would rather hire people a million miles away at a cheaper pay to make cheap shit that they sell right back to you, ever think of that?

I mean, seriously, start using your brain America. If you’re worried about illegals taking your job then bring back the jobs from overseas. You don’t need to be skilled to work in a factory, all the training you need is taught right there. I’m not sure if any of you are aware of this but we have a huge fucking debt. Were spending cash like we have a hole in our pocket. What kind of message are we sending to the next generation who will be running this country?

The Fallible Follies of Phreddie Phelps

Posted by Ask A Pothead on April 12th, 2006

There once was a dumbass named Fred
Who was mad that his son gave good head
So he raised up his voice
To take away his son’s choice
And with religion, the Topekan’s…he led.

Gage Boulevard. A street that will live in infamy with all those who are held against their wills for any extended amount of time in the populated sphincter known as ‘Topeka, Kansas’. A troll guards this path. A fat, slimy, dirty, full of shit troll. Pretty much like the fables. His name is Fred Phelps. Let’s break this wad of arrogant lard down a bit more for you:

1) Car sales man. Yeah. That says more than you think.

2) Son is gay. So what do we have here Freddie? Looks to me like you’re scared to death of what you don’t necessarily understand.

3) Likes to promote pornographic images in view of children. Hmmm…when I worked as a corrections officer, I do recall those type of people being locked up. AND kept away from other inmates due to their ‘incredibly creepy’ ways of thinking.

4) Uses his already fake cause as a vain slander against others. That’s right! If you piss ol’ Freddy boy off…he’ll decide you’re gay for you! Which does follow his whole theme taking your freedom of choice from you I guess. At least he’s somewhat consistently stupid.

So, with that said, I’m curious as to how fast we can fill up the Shawnee County Jail with people that are just DYING to throw a boot at ol’ Freddie boy.

>>Addendum: DO NOT PELT THE MONKEYS ON THE SIDE WALK AND BLAME IT ON ME!!!! I’m just curious. Not actually ASKING people to do this.

“Let Them Eat Cake (While Our Illegals Take Their Jobs)”

Posted by Ask A Pothead on April 10th, 2006

France. A country that could easily be occupied by our Girl Scouts Of America with little to no loss of American lives, but a severe breakdown of French pride.

Mexico. A country known for its long distance runners, swimmers and gold medalist lawn mowers…oh. Nevermind.

It’s a bit of a generalization on both counts, but hear me out. I think I have the solution to our immigration problem in conjuction with France’s lazy students/young adult population.

France recently had protests by the younger generation. Apparently they had a law that would allow first time employees a lifetime guarantee of a job. Sounds pretty good right? Sounds pretty fuckin shitty to me, personally. I’d still be tossing pizzas at the moment if that were the case here in the states. Regardless, France rescinded that law and now the young adults are MAD cuz they won’t be stuck in the same shitty job for a lifetime. Explain that one to me.

Mexico and many of the South American countries flood America looking for gainful employment to send money back home to their families. While I totally understand and sympathize, 11 Million ILLEGAL immigrants who don’t pay all their taxes doesn’t necessarily mean good things for our economy or job security or unemployment for legal Americans. Yes, they pay taxes on everything they purchase…gas, food, tools, clothing, etc. etc., but many of them use false social security cards too. Isn’t this highly illegal as well? Why do we let it occur?

1.) We don’t have the room in the prison system.
2.) We don’t have the money or the resources to ship them back.
3.) Finding 11 Million illegal immigrants is damn near impossible. You might get most, but not all.

My solution:

Free one way tickets to France. Let them take the jobs these lazy French students refuse to take because they won’t have a lifetime guarantee on. Maybe then the French will quit being whiny bitches and realize that you work several jobs over your lifetime to find out what suits you best. 11 Million jobs given to people not of your country would surely light a fire underneath your ass to get out and work.

Morons.

Immigration: The Problem, The Solution, and Who’s to Blame

Posted by Chronic on March 29th, 2006

I gotta say I was kinda disappointed that there were just peaceful protests and no riots…

It all seemed to happen pretty quickly, the government mentioned possible new laws including one that would make being an illegal immigrant a felony offence. In a matter of days, America’s Latino population staged one of the largest protest this nation has seen in years.

My issue is with the criminal behavior… not that of the immigrants, but that of the American employers who are hiring these people at ridiculously low wages and offering no benefits. I agree that there should be some sort of punishment for entering the country illegally, but that penalty shouldn’t be nearly as significant as the penalty that should be imposed on unscrupulous businessmen who are exploiting both legal and illegal workers in the name of capitalism! Not only are these employers underpaying their illegal employees, they’re not insuring them, so when one is injured or gets sick, their healthcare costs are passed on to the legal workers.

I can understand the frustraion on the American worker, I am one, but to hold the illegal immigrants responsible for the current state of affairs is flat-out stupid. They’re just as much victims as we are. We’re all victims of the businesses who chose to violate the law in practicing the hiring of illegal employees. While the republicans want to turn this into a “patriotic issue” it’s not. It’s a money issue. The people who have it keep fucking over the people who don’t in order to get even more of it. And they don’t care if you’re Latino or Anglo, they don’t care if you’re legal or illegal… they only care about the color and legality of the dollar they’re not going to pay you, and not have to pay taxes on.

Big business needs to be held responsible. Big Business should be fined for all of the dollars that they’ve taken out of the American economy through reduced wages, withheld insurance spending, and tax-fraud. I don’t think illegal workers should get off without penalization, but haven’t they already been penalized? I mean isn’t working for less than minimum wage with no benefits punishment enough? These people aren’t stealin’ $100k a year jobs and buyin’ houses in the suburbs… They sleep 8 to an apartment and grow their own vegetables on the balcony… They’re not exactly living the American dream. This dream is what we want to say they’re fucking up for the rest of us… we wanna “blame” them.

When you really examine the issue though, the “blame” for this “problem” rests squarely on the shoulders of the American public. We allowed the big businesses to become so politically influential that their interests supereceded those of the people somewhere along the way. We allowed the American military to carry out chemical warfare on central American and South American countries… When we’re dropping poison from one plane to kill off marijuana and coca and dropping propaganda leaflets explaining how we’re saving the inhabitants of these regions from the evil drug-lords by poisoning the ground they live off of, where do you expect them to go? Of course they’re gonna come here!

It’s your fault! You were too busy watching Kelly Clarkson and stuffing your face with processed cheese products to pay attention to the political climate. You let this shit happen. You elected democrats and republicans. You supported the cause of big business, you wanted to make it easier for them… and you have.

Don’t blame me, I’m part of that 1/2% that voted Libertarian.

Chief Wana Dubie

Posted by Chronic on March 26th, 2006

“When John Aschroft declared the war on drugs, I declared war right back.” Those were the words of Chief Wana Dubie when asked about his history. After seceding from the union and reasserting his Indian heritage, he declared his land an indian reservation. After a joint session with friends and neighbors, the chief chose his name after a friend offered him a hit and said “Hey Chief, wanna dubie?”

When asked about the reasoning and logic for his run for district representative of Missouri’s 150th, Chief responded by telling me of his incarceration for growing marijuana publicly all over his yard to “test the validity of the constitution”.

After being released from prison, Chief had a dream in which he was “movin’ to Salem Missouri and buyin’ a piece of land.” Quoting “Field of Dreams” he claimed “If he built it, they would come.” Stating that family is why we’re here and “our purpose in life” he told of starting life anew with a new love who was taken from him by the federal government because of legal issues preventing people on probation from associating with felons. He also briefly mentioned that he held the state of Missouri responsible for the death of his mother.

When asked about what the biggest issues facing his district, chief responded by saying “I want to give the government back to the people.”

“I beleive that we need jobs,” he said, and spoke about an inability of citizens to afford overpriced gasoline. He spoke of a solution to the job and oil problems saying “I beleive it’s time to grow hemp. No more blood for oil.”

“I’m not the enemy, I’m not a terrosrist,” he says. “The law has been terrorizing me and my people for years.”

“United we stand, divided we’ve fallen.”

“Give me liberty or give me death.”

These quotes sum up the chief’s feelings on the current political climate and the ideals that made this country great but that seem to have been abandonded by modern politicians in favor of money and power.

Wanting to get some information that you readers would appreciate, I asked chief some more pothead-related questions about recreational activities

He mentioned that he loves frisbie golf, but hasn’t been able to play in Missouri. He digs the musical stylings of The 420 bandits, admits difficulty in hacky-sacking in sandals, thinks a snickers bar is the best cure for the munchies, and has no preference as far as smoking techniques are concerned

When asked for final thoughts, Chief said quite simply: “Love is the way.”

I will be checking back in with Chief Wana Dubie as we get closer to election day. In the meantime, be sure to check out his site at chiefwanadubie.com

Marc Emery, and US laws in Canada

Posted by Ask A Pothead on March 21st, 2006

So I’ve been hearing a lot about Marc Emery from Canada lately, and about how he was arrested in Canada. Not by Canadian government officials, but rather by the United States office of the DEA. This has in turn brought to attention that our government knows no bounds anymore. The Canadian government had and still has no intention of prosecuting Marc for selling seeds, even with pressure from the US to do so. Despite all that business Pot.TV is facing some trouble and I know I usually don’t do much else then movie reviews but I think it would be a crime if Marc gets put in jail! So I’m going to give some links to show all you loyal stoners how you could help.

This has a video of a Pot.TV show that explains why he needs the money. Free Marc

And this is what he is talking about the link from Pot.TV were you can give up a simple dime sack and give 10 bucks to our friends who are trying to educate people about pot and let people decide. Much unlike our government, which tells people what to think about pot… Please help the cause. Donate to Pot.TV

The Government’s War on Tolerance, Logic and Nature

Posted by Ask A Pothead on March 19th, 2006

Okay folks.

First off, let me apologize for my absence over the last month or so. I have been busy working a lot lately, and after all askapothead.com isn’t paying the bills…. yet.

Yes, that’s right - as some of you well know, there IS such a thing as a responsible pothead. Despite what the United States government would have you believe with its stand on marijuana, and its “War on Marijuana”, there are actually many functioning, working, bill paying, home owning, tax paying and OTHERWISE law abiding citizens. Which is why I have forced myself to take time out of earning money to feed myself and pay the electric bill and my taxes, to drop some knowledge, and pitch a seriously important bitch.

If you have not already, check out The Wise Old Stoner section… Uncle Lung Hacker has a nice post and a link to the story of the DEA’s arrest and extradition of Canadian Mark Emery, the self proclaimed “Prince of Pot”, and also “one of the attorney general’s most wanted international drug trafficking targets,” and a “drug kingpin” according to American laws. All this just for distributing seeds of a plant. Read the linked story and check out pot.tv for more on Marc Emery.

But here is my beef. What can we do? What can we do, seriously, in a “supposed” republic (and don’t even get me started on how we are not a democracy) where the majority votes based upon misinformation and fear campaigns. People who know about weed don’t fear it. They don’t fear their kids getting hooked on it and finding a gate way to cocaine or heroin. People who know about weed only fear the “man”; the police, the government, the establishment that is here to tell us that they will put us in JAIL for possessing, or growing a plant.

That is it right there.

WE FEAR.

How can a group of people launch a national advertisement campaign to inform and educate the public, when those very people are hunted by the government for those very beliefs? When they FEAR the government arresting them for that? How the fuck does this work? And why does that not sound like America to me?

Here we have a guy IN CANADA… another damn country, and this guy is selling seed. SEEDS! And he is brought to stand trial in the US like a terrorist.

How are we supposed to attack this? It is wrong, it is an infringement upon our personal rights, but what do you do when you live in fear?

And you know it is what they want. According to the DEA, “a significant blow not only to the marijuana trafficking trade but also to the marijuana legalization movement.”

Well there you go.

California has and is trying. They legalized medical marijuana. The state even brought in legendary Hightimes growing guru Ed Rosenthal to run a state indoor medical marijuana farm. What did the DEA do? Well they went in and arrested him and extradited him out of … out of California?? Out of the US…?

They put Ed on Trial and he was convicted. Funny thing was that the federal judge did not allow the jury to be told that Mr. Rosenthal was a state employee and was growing this “illegal plant” at the request of the state of California. In fact, when the jury found this out after the conviction of Mr. Rosenthal, most of them agreed had they known this, they never would have found him guilty.

How do you fight for change in a “free country” where government is supposed to be “of the people, by the people, and for the people” and the Fed’s won’t play by the rules.

Is it the cigarette company lobbies? The alcohol industry? Who exactly is it that is fighting this misinformation propaganda war against marijuana?

And what the fuck are we functioning, working, bill paying, home owning, tax paying and OTHERWISE law abiding citizens, supposed to do to teach the rest of this Bush electing country that weed is not the enemy, nor will it kill your children, nor does it fund terrorism, nor is it a “gateway drug”.

I think talk radio host Art Bell said it best, and I am paraphrasing here, but he said,

“I think when you tell kids that marijuana is this terrible evil drug that will hurt them, and the try it, and it doesn’t do anything they were told to be afraid of, they learn that authority lies. This is the true ‘Gateway’ to other drugs, because now you have lost the trust of your kids.”

Too fucking true.

So what are we going to do people?

What are we going to do?

I know one thing,
first, I’m gonna go load another bowl….
For Marc,
and Ed,
and all the others who have fallen
and been taken prisoner
in the terrorist attacks
committed on American soil
by Americans
against American
who just happen to like to smoke a little weed every now and then…..

And then I am going to re-read my copy of “Ain’t Nobody’s Business If You Do : The Absurdity of Consensual Crimes in Our Free Country,” by Peter McWilliams.

You should run out to amazon.com and buy yourself a copy.

Here:

Buy it!

Buy it. Read it. Get high.

And somebody tell me when you figure out how to change this bull shit fear we live under.

Chief Wana Dubie Update

I talked to the chief last night for a while and we discussed everything from the systematic oppression of hippies to the need for more frisbie-golf courses in Central Missouri. He revealed the meaning behind his name, and what he hopes to accomplish with his campaign. The full interview will be posted in the near future. Keep checking back over this green weekend for the latest updates on The Chief and his campaign for district representative of Missouri’s 150th.

“Put a hippie to work in 06″

Posted by Chronic on March 13th, 2006

It’s an election year, and every election year new candidates spring up with different agendas and plans for fixing the problems that face their communities. Today I was made aware of a candidate in Missouri’s 150th district who goes by the name Chief Wana Dubie. Chief’s running as a Libertarian and champions drug law reform among other things. I’m trying to set up an interview, and will hopefully have more updates on this hippie and his campaign in the coming days. While you wait for what promises to be a great interview, check out the chief’s site at chiefwanadubie.com

Paranoid Pothead Conspiracy Theories

Posted by Chronic on March 6th, 2006

It seems the world is poised for war. The signs are all around us. The steady escalation of the Iranian nuclear situation is obviously the central issue, but certainly not the only one contributing to my paranoid pothead conspiracies. Venezuela has raised the largest militia in the Western hemisphere. They claim that the US is planning to invade them and that their militia is only for defensive purposes. (It’s underfunded, so it could never function effectively outside Venezuela’s borders anyway.) But, why are they afraid of a US invasion? Is it all paranoia on the part of President Chavez? Is he just trying to unite his people through fear? Or is there some possible legitimacy to the theory of a US invasion of Venezuela?

Venezuela voted against sending Iran before the UN security council. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was quoted as saying: “Iran has every right, like many other countries have done, to develop its atomic energy and continue its research in this field.” This indicates at least a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” kind of relationship between Iran and Venezuela. By exposing the issue to his people and showing solidarity with Iran in this issue, he’s set himself up beautifully for perpetuating the idea of a potential US invasion of his country when the US invades Iran in the coming months.

In the past, Venezuela and the US have cooperated in “the war on drugs” but recently, Chavez has stated that he believes the US war on drugs to be a means of politically controling Latin-America. Afterall, coke’s worth a whole lot more than bananas or the other agricultural crops with which we try to get Latin American countries to replace their valuable native crop. Getting them do go along with us and our plan usually involves US aid, and with growing populations and a now crumbling economies, the peoples of these countries become dependent upon US aid just to survive. This means their governments are puppet states of the US, and severely limited in what they can do for their peoples.

In response to Chavez, the US threatened revoked Venezuela’s “drug war certificate” in 2005 citing poor enforcement of drug laws in Venezuela. The US also funds right wing rebel groups in Venezuala who are actively attempting to overthrow President Chavez. Maybe he’s not so paranoid. Venezuela’s sitting on the most confirmed oil in the Western hemisphere. If we see a nuclear war in the Middle East that leaves the area uninhabitible, Venezuela’s oil will be such a valuable commodity, I’m not even sure a dollar amount could be assigned. And as Dubaya says, “We’re addicted to oil.” Addicts do some crazy shit to get their fix, including kill people.

Last month Venezuela expelled a US military attache when he was caught red-handed bribing Venezuelan officials for military secrets. There’s definitely tension. In response to the expulsion, the US declared Venezualen Chief of Staff, Jeny Figueroa Frias, unwelcome and gave her 72 hours to leave US soil.

If we move North and West from Venezuala we find their closest political homeboy in Cuba. Long at odds with US, cuba has tons of old Soviet weaponry that, if still functional, could definitely harm populations on the US mainland… And I think Castro wants to go out with a bang!

OK, back to the root of the problem that we’re really facing. Iran. A mating ritual… a series of posturings on each side have both sides showing off in an effort to impress their peoples before they fuck them.

Iran’s not gonna stop doing shit unless someone forces them. Is the US going to force them? If the christians stay in power I see this as a very legitimate possibility, even probablity. It may be too late to stop at this point even if secular rule is resotred in the US since this situation has gained so much momentum.

Invading Iran means a war with Islam. There’s no way around it. The self-fulfilling prophecy of holy war may indeed come to fruition if the beleivers keep going in the direction they’re going… And so from Iran we have to move west to the first obvious target of Muslim retalliation to the invasion of Iran, Israel. Isreal is pretty well-armed, and ready to fight a defensive war, but since the attack isn’t against the country that started the war (The US) but against an outside country in the form of Israel, the rest of the world has to pick sides. A war with Islam will immediately spread to Europe as well, forcing governments there to pick sides. (Which they’ve all pretty much done in agreeing that Iran should face disciplinary measures for violation of the non-proliferation treaty.)

OK, I doubt many people have made it this far, but if you have, congratulations, you win a free bag of funions. Just go into a store and take it. Tell the store-owner a cartoon pothead on the internet told you that you could do it. (Don’t mention my name, I don’t want to be involved.)

Back to the discussion of impedning doom, if we do find ourselves at war with Islam, don’t we find ourselves vulnerable to the ever-popular suicide-bomber? I mean our borders aren’t exactly tight. More Mexicans than we can count make it across the border every day, who’s to say some of those brown people weren’t of Middle-Eastern ancestry? Who’s to say a small minority of that small minority isn’t financed by some wack-job extremist “I get 72 virgins if I kill an American” kind of group? We don’t know, and we won’t know, and if we spy on our citizens all day we still won’t know… The government will never be able to know everything that’s going on. If it did, the whole subculture I represent wouldn’t exist. We potheads wouldn’t exist, nor any of the other drug sub-cultures. There’d be no crime at all in fact. The solution to the issues of national security in terms of preventing attacks on American soil is not more laws, it’s not more spying, it’s not more police… It’s more compassion, more understanding and more dialogue. We need to stop denying other countries the standard of life we have here. We need to stop governing foreign countries as if they were provinces of the US unless we plan to give them all the rights and privileges of statehood.

Who am I kidding? It’s too late for any of that. We’re doomed.

Gay Marriage

Posted by Ask A Pothead on February 16th, 2006

Special rights. The gay agenda. Gay rights. These are all phrases spoken by people who don’t know or can’t remember what the basic ideals were when this country was founded by the framers of the Constitution. They are neither lofty, nor utopian, but rather what is ingrained into every human soul at the moment of cognizance. To strip away these fundamental abstracts is to strip away everything that is good about this country, everything about Democracy in and of itself.

There are people out there who wish to make amendments to our Constitution that integrate a form of bigotry or intolerance, such as the Federal Marriage Amendment, which prevents the marriage of a man and a man or a woman and a woman outright. “The Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery, the Fourteenth ensured all Americans equal protection under the laws, the Fifteenth provided voting rights regardless of race or previous condition of servitude, the Nineteenth guaranteed voting rights for women…the Twenty-Fourth eliminated discriminatory poll taxes in federal elections…” (1) Not one of these amendments prevented any one race, sex, or person of differing sexuality the same rights afforded to other citizens of this country. They only expanded on the ones already in place, but the people who have forgotten why America is such a free country will change that if given the chance.

The Fourteenth Amendment specifically states in the Equal Protection Clause that “no state shall…deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” (2) This means that no state has the right to take away the freedom of one group while completely stripping away the same freedom from another. We would then find ourselves completely unbalanced and un-American if we were to allow this, not to mention wholeheartedly ignoring our Constitution. The arguments in favor of regulating marriage to be between a man and a woman are numerous, but none hold up to the Constitution.

The first and most prevalent (at least with the religious conservatives) is that it goes against God’s law and the Bible. While respecting all religions without nationalizing one over all the others (another ideal of our founding fathers), this argument assumes that everyone is a Christian or that their specific religions are against homosexuality in any form. “Not all religions have a problem with homosexuality; many sects of Buddhism, for example, celebrate gay relationships freely and would like to have the authority to make them legal marriages. In that sense, their religious freedom is being infringed.” (3)

Many people feel that same-sex marriages would destroy or lessen the current institution of marriage, so it’s interesting to note that “nearly half of all marriages end in divorce” according the 2000 US Census Bureau of Household and Family Statistics. If half of straight couples can’t keep their marriages together without this amendment, what good is this argument in favor of the amendment? It would seem fairly obvious that homosexual marriages weren’t praised for the half that worked, so why should it be blamed for the half that didn’t work? The bottom line is that this argument is ridiculous at best.

Another good argument (and by good, I mean laughable) is in regards to the “opening of floodgates” into marriages involving humans and animals. “Gay marriage has been legal in Denmark since 1989. A survey conducted in 1995 indicated that 89 percent of the Dutch clergy now admit that the law is a good one and has had many beneficial effects, including a reduction in suicide, a reduction in the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and in promiscuity and infidelity among gays.” (3) So, the law in Denmark had worked for 6 years and still, 16 years later, there is absolutely no record whatsoever of any legal marriages occurring between a man and an animal or a woman and an animal.

Having numerous friends who are gay, I talked to a few who were in relationships. Two of my friends plan on having their own small ceremony for themselves and our group of friends. One of their main concerns deals with serious illnesses and their ability to be with the other should an emergency arise. If Partner A had to be admitted to the hospital, Partner B would not be allowed into his hospital room due to the wording of these amendments and bills being passed. Since Partner B is technically not a member of the family, according to the law, his presence is not a necessity in the hospital room. This goes for property rights as well. If the two of them had bought a house or have been making payments on it for ten years, in the event of one of their deaths, the deceased’s family gets all rights to the property. This leaves the deceased’s loved one with no home even though they had shared in the payments and general upkeep in the home. This has even been known to completely circumvent the most stringent and careful writing of wills, which leads us to the most important issues of the gay family. The family unit itself.

They say ‘Only heterosexuals can make good parents,’ or ‘A family isn’t a family with two members of the same sex as heads of the household.’ Actually, “studies have shown that children are more influenced by their interactions with their parents, than by their sexual orientation. With this in mind, the American Association of Pediatrics supports gay and lesbian couples adopting children.” (5)

As of 2002, a study done by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption found that “nearly 40% of American adults, or 81.5 million people, have considered adopting a child. If just one in 500 of these adults adopt, all of the 134,000 children in foster care waiting for adoption would have permanent loving families.” (6) One out of every five hundred people adopting would be able to give a child a family. That’s vastly more important than keeping someone from adopting simply due to their sexuality especially considering who some of these hopeful parents are: knowledgeable leaders in the child development industry.

“To categorically deny gay people the chance to be foster parents accomplishes nothing beyond making it harder to place the nearly 2,000 foster children in need of permanent homes in Missouri. Every mainstream child advocacy and mental health organization is opposed to foster care policies that ban lesbians and gay men, because such bans serve only to hurt children who need homes.” (7) This was stated by Julie Brueggemann, who is the Executive Director of PROMO, Missouri’s statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights organization.

She spoke in defense of Lisa Johnston, who applied to become a foster parent with her partner Dawn Roginski and was denied only because of her lesbianism. Not only is this asinine because it’s wrong, but Johnston holds a degree in Human Development and Family with an emphasis on child development. She’s been to a higher level of education dealing directly with children and their development, so she knows what she’s talking about, yet is unfit to be a parent due to her sexuality. On this particular matter, it’s not the possible adoptive parents who lose, it’s the children in need of good homes. Just think, 1 in 500 would give every child a home and a family to be a part of, but we’d rather sacrifice the welfare of thousands upon thousands of foster children just to write intolerance into our Constitution.

As you can see, many of these arguments absolutely cannot stand up on their own. Together, they smack of personal bias, revulsion, and outright intolerance with disregard for facts, figures and the truth, but there is still the matter of constitutionality. Federally amending our Constitution to prevent a person from enjoying the same rights as everyone else is not progress, in fact it’s exactly the opposite. When we let ourselves be blinded by our own prejudices, we forget exactly what is right and wrong. Our forefathers knew the difference and that’s exactly why they founded this country with an umbrella of freedoms for everyone to enjoy, not just the few. They named us the United States of America, not the United Straights of America.
